No, I didn’t misspell the word Movember. Little did you know it’s not only November, it’s “Mo”vember – a month of abundant facial hair and inescapable bad mustaches aiming to raise awareness of men’s physical and mental health.
Admittedly, I use to think this hairy month was 30 days of creepy ‘70’s porn staches, but it’s so much more than that! Every November, Movember launches, and men across the globe begin cultivating their “Mos”, to raise Mo awareness and Mo money for men’s health issues, particularly prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. The goal of Movember is to “change the face of men’s health.” There is actually an entire movember.com website dedicated to this campaign. Pretty cool!
However, if growing facial hair is the main event, I would say Jereme celebrates year-round. 😉
Yeah, you heard me. Year-round facial hair is pretty much a staple in our house. Whether it’s a nice, healthy beard or a combo beard/stache. Or hey, even growing out his hair. …Jereme’s usually participating in some fashion.
Most recently, Jer took part in the festivities by growing out his hair too! (I’d actually been begging him for years to grow his hair back out — it’s been years since he made the switch from “spikey-head-of-hair” to “easy-maintenance-shaved-head-look”.
Sadly, the Jersey Shore blowout only lasted a few weeks. And after a short stent as a mohawk, Jer’s hair is back to his normal shaved head look. Luckily, Movember lives on because Jer’s beard/stache are still in tact. 😉
