Tuesday Tell-Tales.

Sailing-Blog-Cruising-Caribbean-Bahamas-USVI-BVI-LAHOWIND-Tuesday-Tell-Tales-Boat-Life-2015-LAHOWIND-eIMG_4970 What you don’t have undies strung up across your living room like ^^this^^????

Yup, just another regular joy of life afloat. Commercial laundry facilities, driers in particular, are not always the most reliable. And hence, we oftentimes find ourselves schlepping back a few loads of clean, yet wet laundry…that needs drying!

We hang as much as we can on the lifelines around the exterior of the boat (it obviously dries way faster in the sun and wind), but when we run out of exterior space and/or clothespins for our clothing and linens, what’s leftover ends up down below.

Now, this is the glamorous side of cruising!

I kid, I kid.

I know I’m guilty myself of posting mostly only the glossiest (is that even a word?) and prettiest photos on the blog, but deep down, I want to remember and document it all. The good, the bad, and the hilarious. You know, celebrate the everyday.

And having to dodge wet undies as you walk through the sailboat cabin is hilarious in my book. :)))

I must admit, we’ve worked out a perfect clothesline system, even inside. We simply use our favorite paracord (I wrote about it and some of our other most overlooked yet beloved items on the boat >> here <<) and string it up from one mounted hook to another. Open a few hatches/windows to get a good breeze blowing through the cabin and you’ll have dry undies in no time!

Okay enough about wet undies, guess what we’re up to this week? Yup, more awesome visitors! We are prepping for Jer’s parents, who arrive later this week! Yippee!!!

And we are cranking out a few loads of laundry, making sure the boat is spick and span, and grabbing some fresh groceries in town. And each of those small tasks takes about a day each to complete. Lol. Life on a boat, I tell ya.

Happy Tuesday!
